SRC restructures its research program into eight science areas. And, in a precursor to web-based delivery, SRC distributes its Research Catalog on diskette, and make its Electronic Document Library available on CD.

Highlights

As input to long-range strategic research planning, SRC commissions the first research gap analysis, highlighting important areas of semiconductor research that are not being addressed properly by SRC or the industry.
The new Research Catalog and Electronic Document Library allow SRC participants to more easily track and access SRC research activities and results.
To correspond to the Technology Working Groups of the Roadmap, SRC restructures its research program into eight science areas: Design; Environment, Safety & Health; Factory; Interconnect: Lithography: Materials and Bulk Processes; Packaging; and Process Integration and Device Sciences.
