Our second general research conference, TECHCON '90, gives more than 550 attendees a look at both the best results of the SRC Research Program and the technologies expected to affect the semiconductor industry and the program in the future. In the keynote address, Gordon Moore spells out the role of technology in the global semiconductor competition.

The number of small companies participating in the research program as Affiliate Members more than doubles in 1990.

Two national laboratories, Sandia and Los Alamos, become Associate Members.

SRC has more than 100 contracts with 60 research organizations supporting about 250 faculty members and 700 graduate students.

During 1990, SRC’s program generates 897 research reports and a variety of intellectual property, including 8 U.S. patents issued and 22 invention disclosures.
