About STARnet
Using multi-disciplinary and collaborative teams, STARnet pursues beyond-CMOS technologies, and tackles complex systems integration problems with emphasis on design, software, system-level verification, and validation.
Research Focus: U.S. Security & Electronics Innovation
STARnet is a cornerstone of the U.S. semiconductor research strategy. STARnet research creates the breakthroughs that are critical to U. S. security and economic competitiveness goals, giving member companies a shared advantage in the race to develop compelling new technologies and products.
Always long-range and big-picture, STARnet research programs offer mutual leverage to both industry and government sponsors. STARnet is also the only university research program that gives the U.S. Department of Defense better than one-to-one leverage with significant payoff.
STARnet centers themselves are not physical locations, but rather virtual collaboration entities drawing from multiple universities. This allows STARnet centers to engage the leading experts from their respective institutions. Each with an annual investment of about $6 million, every center is managed by a full-time university Center Director and pursues a unique mission of critical importance to STARnet members.
