Incremental Leveraged Funding Policy
GRC seeks to fund excellent research that is relevant to the needs of GRC members and to obtain maximum benefits for its members at minimum cost. From time-to-time, GRC may wish to incrementally fund a research project that is being funded by other sponsors.
SRC and SACC/TAB members participating in the proposal selection process are made aware of other funding sources/planned sources by the Principal Investigator in the Proposal for Research. Incremental funding may be a consideration during the final selection process.
In order to obtain Research Management Committee (RMC) approval for incremental funding of this type, one of the following two questions must be answered in the affirmative:
- Would incremental funding increase the scope and pace of the project?
- Would incremental funding provide access by GRC members to a large, relevant project otherwise unavailable to GRC members?
Note: Incremental or leveraged funding arrangements can not reduce any pre-existing GRC rights in the research, including access to research results, access to researchers and students, access to intellectual property, or the like.
