SRC expresses its appreciation for members - the lifeblood of this unique research consortium. SRC not only values its members … it defines itself in terms of its ability to meet and exceed member expectations.
Highlights
-
The SRC Undergraduate Research Opportunities (URO) program is initiated through the Education Alliance as an innovative and important step in opening doors at the undergraduate level; URO is made possible by a generous grant from the Intel Foundation, providing undergraduates with valuable research experience and mentoring.
-
Emerging Research Initiatives are identified as efforts to create synergistic opportunities between the semiconductor industry and adjacent technology sectors. These areas of investigation, involving shorter-term commitments, are integral to SRC's overarching strategy to address innovative applications research—such as energy, bioelectronics, sensors and cyber security—for both SRC members and non-members.
-
In 2009 the URO comprised programs at 14 universities, supporting meaningful hands-on research and on-campus activities and programs to help students select and apply to graduate school.
-
Over 1500 students participated in SRC research across GRC, FCRP and NRI, with 176 completing Master’s or Ph.D. degrees.
